ENTC AD 2.20  Local aerodrome regulations

1  AD availability
1.1 AD approved for:
  • VFR operations in daylight and darkness,

  • IFR operations.

Note: AD is approved for CAT I operations but not CAT II or III operations.

1.2 Except for emergency situations AD shall not be used by CIV or MIL ACFT with wingspan exceeding 61 M. Avinor may grant other exceptions based on an Approach and Departure Risk Assessment. Request must be send AD minimum 8 weeks prior to operations.
1.3 PPR for charter and non-scheduled flights.

ENTC AD 2.21  Noise abatement procedures

1  General
1.1 The following noise abatement procedures are mandatory unless otherwise instructed by ATC or unless deviations are required in the interest of safety. Instructions which will imply deviations from noise abatement procedures will include the phrase: “Disregard Noise Abatement”.
2  Restrictions
2.1 Aircraft with MTOM 2500 KG or more, shall not overfly Tromsøya BLW 2000 FT.

ENTC AD 2.22  Flight Procedures

1  Operations under limited visibility conditions
1.1 Aerodrome marking and lighting details, table 2.9 and 2.14, and AD 2 ENTC 2-1, refers.
1.2 RVR 800 M or less:
Secondary power supply ensures activation in 1 -one- second.
1.3 RVR 550 M or less:
LVP not established. No aircraft operations allowed.
2  Radio communication failure
2.1 If experiencing radio communication failure when flying VFR in CTR:
  1. Squawk 7600,

  2. Proceed via routes shown (REF AD 2 ENTC 6 - 1) and hold
    - 0,5 NM W of AD at 750 FT, or
    - 0,5 NM E of AD at 750 FT

  3. Flash LDG LGT and watch TWR for visual signals.

ENTC AD 2.23  Additional Information

1  Differences from ICAO Annex 14
1.1 PAPI RWY 18: Distance from RWY edge to unit nearest to RWY is 13,6 M on the left hand side and 15,5 M on the right hand side. Units are spaced 8 M apart.
PAPI RWY 36: Distance from RWY edge to unit nearest to RWY is 15,4 M on the left hand side and 13,2 M on the right hand side. Units are spaced 8 M apart.
1.2 Height over RWY and cross slope towards rising terrain not meeting requirements about 600 M along east side of RWY.
1.3 The distance between RWY CL and CL TWY Y, from TWY D and southwards, is less than 168 M.
1.4 Several terrain obstacles are not equipped with OBST LGT.
1.5 Outer 80 M of safety area in north missing north-west corner.
1.6 The southern Safety area does not comply with requirements regarding width over road (Culvert) in the south.
1.7 LOC hut RWY 01 is inside the safety area.
1.8 Simple touchdown zone lights are replaced by balked LDG guidance lights. REF para 5.3.14.
2  International Health Regulations (IHR)
2.1 The airport is designated as IHR airport, REF GEN 1.3, item 4.
3  Special requirements for aircraft operators performing commercial transportation into Tromsø airport, Langnes
3.1 The aircraft operator shall stipulate special crew qualification requirements, REF EASA AMC1 ORO.FC.105.
For operations with jet ACFT in PANS OPS code C/D:
  • 01 OCT - 30 APR: CAT C

  • 01 MAY - 30 SEP: CAT B

For operations with other types of ACFT: CAT B all year around.

3.2 The aircraft operator shall stipulate special limitations with regard to surface wind.
3.3 The aircraft operator shall stipulate special requirements with regard to runway status.
3.4 Departure procedures, take-off minima, take-off weight limitations shall be documented.
3.5 The aircraft operator shall document fulfilment of the requirements above to CAA Norway at least 14 days prior to commencing operations. CAA Norway will, after evaluating the documentation and finding it adequate, issue a letter of compliance. A copy of this letter has to be carried by the crew and presented to local airport authorities or representatives of CAA Norway on request.

4  Tailwind landings
4.1 As a safety precaution CAA Norway has set a maximum allowed tailwind component of 8 knots for jet ACFT landing on RWY 18 when the runway is contaminated.
4.2 The wind component is based on the average reading the last two minutes from the northern anemometer.
5  Approach and runway lights
5.1 The light intensity for sequenced flashing light is adjustable in
3 stages, intensity 10 - 30 - 100 %.
5.2 The light intensity for APCH, PAPI, THR, RWY CL, RWY edge,
RWY end and TWY LGT is adjustable in 5 stages,
intensity 1 - 3 - 10 - 30 - 100 %, REF AD 1.1.
5.3 Balked LDG guidance lights installed, 2 Y LGTS outside each edge of RWY, in a given distance after THR, REF AD 2.14.10.
6  Caution
6.1 Wind Shear / eddies may occur on short final RWY 18 and 36 with wind 200-270° above 20 KT.

7  Closing criterium for Tromsø Airport
